THE TOTAL INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP OF BELGIUM

CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION
Format
The Championship will be decided by stroke play over four rounds of 18 holes in accordance with the Rules of Golf (see definition page 41 of the English edition), 18 holes being played on each day.
After 54 holes the leading 60 boys and all those tying for 60th place and the leading 30 girls and all those tying for 30th place shall play a further 18 holes on the fourth day. The remainder shall be eliminated.
In both categories, the winner shall be the competitor who returns the lowest score over 72 holes. In the event of a tie for first place, there will be a hole by hole play-off to determine the winner on holes 1, 2, 3, 8 and 9. If there is not a winner, a play-off will be played on hole 9, till a winner is determined.
The play-off shall start as soon as practicable after the last players have finished their round.
Play will be in group of no more than 3 players. Lots will be drawn to determine groups and order of play. If the play-off involves more than 2 players, those other than the winner will be deemed to have tied for 2nd place regardless of their scores in the play-off.
Results of the competition – competition closed
When the final results sheet is placed on the official notice-board, the results of the Competition shall be deemed to have been officially announced. 3. Time of Starting
If the player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his starting time, in the absence of circumstances that warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes. Penalty for lateness beyond five minutes is disqualification.

The ball the player plays must be named on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls issued by the R&A.
Penalty for Breach of Condition: Disqualification.6. Pace of play
The time allowed for playing a hole, a round or a part of the round will be determined by the
Committee and will be published on the official notice-board.
A group that exceeds the time allowed and in the case of second or subsequent groups is out of position will be warned. "Out of position" is defined as being more than the starting interval behind the group in front.
If after two holes, the group is still delayed or out of position, in the absence of mitigating circumstances, the group is liable to be timed.
From the beginning of timing, if any player exceeds 50 seconds on a "first to play approach shot (including par 3 tee shot), chip or putt", or 40 seconds if it is a tee shot or "second or third to play shot", he shall be deemed to have had a "bad time".
A player whose group is timed will have a bad time carried forward in the round even if the group subsequently arrives back in position or within time.
Penalty for Breach of Condition:
One bad time: Warning from Official
Two bad times: One stroke penalty
Three bad times: Two stroke penalty
Four bad times: Disqualification
Note: Timing will be taken from the moment it is deemed by the Rules Official that it is the player's turn to play. 7. Restriction on Who May Serve as Caddie
A player is prohibited from having a professional golfer to serve as his caddie during the stipulated round.
Penalty for Breach of Condition: Two strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred; maximum penalty per round - Four strokes.
In the event of a breach between the play of two holes, the penalty applies to the next hole. A player having a caddie in breach of this condition must immediately upon discovery that a breach has occurred ensure that he conforms with this condition for the remainder of the stipulated round. Otherwise, the player is disqualified.
8. Suspension of Play Discontinue Play: Three consecutive notes of siren, repeated

When play is suspended by the Committee for a dangerous situation, if the players in a match or group are between the play of two holes, they must not resume play until the Committee has ordered a resumption of play. If they are in the process of playing a hole, they must discontinue play immediately and not resume play until the Committee has ordered a resumption of play. If a player fails to discontinue play immediately, he is disqualified unless circumstances warrant waiving the penalty as provided in Rule 33-7. Resume Play: Two short notes of siren, repeated10. Transportation
Players must walk at all times during a stipulated round.
Penalty for Breach of Condition: two strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred; maximum penalty per round: four strokes. In the event of a breach between the play of two holes, the penalty applies to the next hole.
Use of any unauthorised form of transportation must be discontinued immediately upon discovery that a breach has occurred. Otherwise, the player is disqualified.11. Use of electronic equipment
Players will not be allowed to use any electronic equipment during a stipulated round (mobile phone, iPod, electronic measuring devices, etc.).
A player whose mobile phone rings during a stipulated round is guilty of a serious breach of etiquette and must immediately switch off his mobile phone. In case of further breach, the Committee may impose a penalty of disqualification (Rule 33-7). If the player answers the call, he is disqualified.
12. Drugs
No competitor shall knowingly make use of any drug to enhance his performance. Any competitor infringing this condition or, if asked to do so, refusing to take a test, may be disqualified. 13. No-smoking
No competitor shall smoke on the course.
A player who is smoking on the course is guilty of a serious breach of etiquette, and must immediately stop smoking. In case of further breach, the Committee may impose a penalty of disqualification (Rule 33-7) Championship Committee Rules Committee

TEMPORARY LOCAL RULES
1. Preferred Lies
2. Leaves and branches are GUR only if they have been piled for
removal.
If leaves and branches piled for removal interfere with a player
stance or swing, the player is entitled to relieve under rule 25-1B.
3. Following bunkers are “Trough the green”, and considered as GUR,
Those bunkers are indicated by a blue stake.
Relief MUST be taken according rule 25-1b.
Hole 1: 1st Fairway bunker on left side.
4. Washed out areas within the bunker may be considered as an
abnormal condition in the bunker.
A player can take relief, without penalty, IN the bunker, according
rule 25-1b
UNDER PENALTY of one stroke the player may take relief outside
the bunker according rule 25-1b (ii).
If any doubt the player should play a second ball according rule 3-3
